Service Description: The map shows the percentage of population exposed to PM25 levels in 3 years average 2019-2021
97 % of Europe’s urban population is exposed to levels of particulate matter pollution above the thresholds recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The map below represents the proportion of urban populations in each region exposed to PM₂.₅ levels above those thresholds. In the practice, in most regions in Europe, a majority of the population is exposed to unsafe levels of fine particles (above the WHO threshold of 5 µg/mᵌ)
